Spring has a way of making us want to throw open the windows, purge the clutter, and start fresh. We do it with our closets, our kitchens, and our garages — so why not our digital lives too? This season, take an hour or two to give your online presence the refresh it deserves. Here’s where to start.
An overflowing inbox is the digital equivalent of a junk drawer. Start by unsubscribing from any newsletters you haven’t opened in the last 30 days. Then create folders or labels for what’s left, and archive anything older than 90 days you haven’t acted on. A clean inbox isn’t just satisfying — it reduces decision fatigue every single morning.
When did you last actually use that app you’re paying $12/month for? Pull up your bank or credit card statement and go line by line. Cancel anything that no longer serves you. This one task alone could save you hundreds of dollars a year.
Desktop chaos is real. Create a simple folder system, delete duplicate files, and empty your downloads folder. If you use Google Drive or Dropbox, do the same there. Future you will be deeply grateful.
Spring is a great time to enable two-factor authentication on your key accounts and update any passwords you’ve been meaning to change. Use a password manager if you aren’t already — it’s a game changer.
Here’s the one people always skip, and it’s arguably the most important. When was the last time you updated your headshot or brand photos? If you’re still using an image from three years ago, or worse, a cropped photo from someone’s wedding, it’s time.
Spring is the perfect season for a photo refresh, and here’s why:
∙ The light is magical. Spring light is soft, warm, and naturally flattering — perfect for photos that feel fresh and genuine.
∙ You’re already in a refresh mindset. You’re updating everything else, so why stop short of the thing people see first?
∙ Outdoor settings look incredible. Blooming trees, green grass, and fresh air make for effortlessly beautiful backdrops.
∙ People are actively hiring, browsing, and buying. Spring is a high-activity season for business — make sure the first impression you’re giving is current and confident.
Your brand photos show up everywhere: your website, your LinkedIn, your email signature, your social profiles. They’re working for you 24/7. Make sure they actually look like you — the you of right now, not three years and a pandemic ago.
You don’t have to tackle all of this in one sitting. Pick one item from this list and do it today. The momentum builds quickly, and by the time the flowers are in full bloom, your digital life will feel just as fresh.
If updating your brand photos has been on your to-do list, there’s no better time than now. Book a spring session and step into the season — and your next chapter — looking and feeling your best. Book a consultation here.
